NBR: Resistant to oil, pressure and wear, good elasticity and mechanical strength;

Applicable to the mediums including water, oil, alcohol, etc from -20ºC to 100ºC

EPDM: Resistant to high or low temperatures, ozone and chemicals; applicable to weak acids with temperatures from -35ºC to 150ºC

Viton: Resistant to heat, oil, medicine and chemical reagents, acid and alkali with medium corrosive degrees; applicable to the corrosive mediums from -20ºC to 180ºC

Silica Gel: Resistant to ozone, aging, acetic acid, ammonia and alcohol; applicable to alcohol, alkali, etc from -50ºC to 210ºC

Chlorinated Rubber: Resistant to freon, petroleum; applicable to inorganic acid, alkali, running from -30ºC to 130ºC

Assembling Directions:

1.Make a careful selection of the corresponding seal type and the right seal face materials, which are able to satisfy the working conditions.

2.The shaft ends and steps where the mechanical seal is mounted requires chamfering. A smooth transition is needed if there is a sharp edge or corner. The deviations of the assembling dimensions and the roughness are shown in the above table for your reference.

3.The diameter run-out of the rotating shaft shall not be more than 0.04mm, and the axial run-out shall not be more than 0.1mm. The perpendicularity between the back side of the stationary face(or where the stationary face lies) and the shaft shall not be more than 0.04mm.

4.Chech whether the real dimensions of the selected seal agree with the assembling dimensions.

5.Prevent any dust, any sand, etc. from entering where the seal is mounted. Keep it clean. Moreover, don’t make any accidental damage to the sealing position.

6.Oil may be applied to lubricate where the seal is mounted. But oil is not used when the sealing material is EPDM. It is recommended that soap water be applied. After being mounted, push the rotary part with hands to check whether it can move in a flexible and elastic way.

7.Give a balanced force to the screws while tightening them up. After the stationary gland is fixed, please check whether the seal face is vertical to the axis.

8.Avoid hitting and knocking the seal parts in a strong way to stop the seal faces from cracking and breaking. Any damage to the seal faces will cause failure.

9.Wd53 and WDE41 belong to the seals which are driven by springs, so it is important to choose the spring direction. If the shaft runs clockwise, seen from the motor to the impeller, choose a right hand spring. Otherwise choose a left hand spring.

10. After being fixed, please rotate the shaft with hands to check whether the shaft runs smoothly.

11. Fill the needed medium in the chamber before starting to prevent dry wear to avoid any leakage.

12. Please refer to Ap1682 and take relecant measures to prevent any accident from occurring by blocking, washing, cooling, filtering and so on, when the mediums are too high or low in temperature, contain solid grains, are flammable, explosive or noxious.
